Promoting a Positive Safety Culture
Summary
Tree workers cannot be entirely to blame for their unsafe work behavior. This presentation will explore the factors that might contribute to the safety climate and culture in your own company.Looking beyond enforcement of the Z133.1, management can address safety within their own company by working to improve workers’ perspective on safety. By employers supporting safe behavior, in addition to good productivity, workers receive positive reinforcement for their safe work practices. Once we appreciate the importance of safety perspectives, we can use the power of constructive communication to effect positive change within the tree care industry.
