    UVMA-UAA Leveraging a Partnership

    Summary

This presentation will discuss the objectives of the newly formed Utility Vegetation Management Association (UVMA) in Western Canada. It will describe the reasons why a group of Utility Vegetation Managers needed to unite to develop practices and policies relevant to their business needs. Numerous Western Canadian Utilities spread over thousands of miles, now have an opportunity to engage senior management and field operations for the betterment of the industry. The UVMA is closely aligned with the UAA and have recently signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with each other. UVMA membership now includes a full UAA membership with all of the privileges.

This partnership provide opportunities that include: a utility approved credentialing program; development of regional best management practices; a unified utility sponsored safety website; regional workshops and other initiatives. The UAA provides significant professional and networking opportunities that the UVMA-UAA joint membership can now offer.
