Joe
Boggs
Joe
is an Assistant Professor with Ohio State University Extension and Ohio State
University Department of Entomology. He
has 20+ years of Extension experience and specializes in tree and shrub
diagnostics and pest management. Joe has
a B.S. degree in Biology/Chemistry from Glenville State College, Glenville,
WV., and a M.S. Degree from OSU in Entomology.
He averages over 70 professional presentations per year
and has a
weekly radio
segment (Buggy Joe Boggs Report) on the Saturday morning show, “In the Garden
with Ron Wilson,” (WKRC, Cincinnati) that is syndicated to 30 radio stations in
12 states and Satellite radio. Joe has
made presentations at previous ISA Annual International Conferences in Rhode
Island (2009) and Chicago (2011).
Amy
Stone
Amy
is an Extension Educator with The Ohio State University, where she has been
working for 18+ years. She has degrees
in Landscape and Turf Management from Owens Community College and a BS and MS
from the University of Toledo. Since the
unfortunate discovery of EAB in Ohio in February 2003, Amy has been focusing
her efforts on the green menace. She is
the state's representative on the EAB Communications Working Group, and a
collaborator on Emerald Ash Borer University.
Since
ALB was discovered in Ohio in June, 2011, Joe and Amy have collectively made 96
teaching presentations on ALB to over 4,000 program participants and 66 teaching
presentations on EAB to over 2,000 participants. They have co-authored ALB articles published
in the Ohio ISA Chapter Newsletter (March-April 2012, CEUs at Home), Tree Care
Industry Magazine (April 2012, feature with cover), Arbor Age Magazine
(July-August, feature and cover), American Nurseryman Magazine (October 2012,
feature), and The Buckeye Magazine (Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association,
August 2011, Feature).
