Utility Pruning: Where We Were...Where Are We Going?

Utility pruning is often controversial and
is questioned by some as a legitimate arboricultural practice.This presentation discusses the need for
utility line clearance, its foundation in tree biology, its practical
application, and its advantages and disadvantages.
Presenters
Randall H. Miller is Director of Vegetation Management at
PacifiCorp. He joined PacifiCorp in 1993, and has been their System Forester
since 1999. Randall is currently Chair Elect of the TREE Fund Board. He has served as President of the Utility
Arborist Association, on the editorial board of the journal Arboriculture
and Urban Forestry and the International Society of Arboriculture's
Certification Test Committee, among other professional volunteer positions. He
is an ISA Certified Arborist and Certified Utility Specialist.
