Four Years Later: How to Manage a Newly Cleared ROW and Keep it on Cycle
Summary
This
presentation will discuss the issues in developing a work plan for a newly
cleared ROW. The presentation will look at all the factors that play a role in
developing a work plan such as new easements/landowner concerns, environmental
restrictions, new landscape mitigation plantings, access restrictions, stem
densities, aesthetics, off cycle work, and budget concerns.

Bill Conn has been in the tree care industry for the past seventeen years. He has been employed with VELCO for the past seven years. He is a Certified Arborist, Certified Tree Worker, Certified Utility Specialist, and Certified Treecare Safety Professional. He has done numerous trainings and presentations on certified line clearance tree trimming, aerial rescue, aerial lift operation, chain saw safety, use of LIDAR in IVM and landscape mitigation on ROW’s. He serves on the board of directors for the New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture as President Elect. He has also been involved in the International Society of Arboriculture’s International Tree Climbing Competition as a judge and technician and currently the North American Tree Climbing Competition Chairman. He also is a member of the ISA Certification Test Committee.
