EAB Impact - Utility Perspective
Summary
The presentation will be about the
impact of EAB to Toledo Edison and FirstEnergy Corp. I will talk about the
approach we took to dealing with EAB and some of the challenges we faced along
the way. I will also review the reliability issues it has caused to our system
and costs associated with that.

Contat – ISA Certified Arborist / Utility Specialist. I have worked in the
ultility line clearance industry for the past 24 years. 18 of those were with
Asplundh Tree Expert Co. and the past 6 years with FirstEnergy Corp. I
am currently the Forestry Manager for ToledoEdison Co. 1 of 10 FirstEnergy
operating companies. I oversee all of the distribution vegetation management
activities on our system. I also serve at the Vice Chair for the Ohio
Chapter of the Utility Arborist Association at this time.
