Description:
Arborists face a growing array of new, expanding, and potential epidemic tree health threats. This course provides an advanced look at emerging insects, pathogens, and invasive species that may shape the future of tree care. Participants will learn to recognize early signs of invasive pests, expanding fungal and bacterial diseases, and shifts in pest pressure. Emphasis will be placed on diagnostic tools, laboratory testing, and monitoring technologies, as well as treatment and prevention strategies including integrated pest management (IPM), cultural practices, biological controls, and chemical options.
