Registration for the 2021 virtual Annual SER MWGL Chapter Meeting is open! Registration prices provide attendees access to all schedule events of our virtual conference for all five days of the conference and access to all recorded content for three months after the meeting concludes. Additionally, we are offering early registration prices for the entire registration period that will run from now until April 28, 2021. SER MWGL Chapter members and students receive discounted registration prices. Registration prices range from $60 to $170 depending on student status and SER Membership status. Our annual meeting will be held virtually from April 19 to April 29, 2021 and our planned schedule of events is below:
Monday 4/19/2021 – 9:00 am to 12:30 pm eastern time: Jennifer Windus’ Keynote presentation on Inspiring Conservation and Restoration: Bridging the Gap with Non-profit and Government Partners and choice of one of two workshops (A Field Perspective on Integrating Data Review into Ecological Restoration & Resume, Cover Letters, and Interview Skills.
Wednesday 4/21/2021 – 1:00 to 5:00 pm eastern time: Two symposia (Habitat Management on Rights of Way and Energy and Transportation Lands & Restoration of Former Golf Courses) and three contributed oral presentation sessions (Restoration in Practice, Forest, Savanna, and Understory restoration, & Wetland Restoration)
Friday 4/23/2021 – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm eastern time: Two symposia (Future Issues in Ecological Restoration in the Midwest & Essential Roles of Invertebrates in the Midwest) and three contributed oral presentation sessions (Tallgrass Prairie Restoration, Renewing the Spirit, & Restoration of Ecosystem Services).
Tuesday 4/27/2021 – 1:00 to 4:00 pm eastern time: Three contributed oral presentation sessions (Forest Restoration, Landscape Restoration, & Stream Restoration) and virtual poster session (19 poster presentations) and sponsorship reception.
Thursday 4/29/2021– 9:00 am to noon eastern time: Concluding plenary session on Ensuring the Health of Ohio’s Greatest Natural Resource – Ecological Restoration of Lake Erie, awards ceremony, business meeting, and announcement of 2022 Annual Chapter Meeting and preview of 2022 field trips.
Additionally, we have applied for approval to offer continuing education credits from the Society for Ecological Restoration, the International Society of Arboriculture and the Society of American Foresters. Once we receive approval to offer continuing education credits from these other organizations we will post the available credits offered on our Annual Meeting Webpage and will provide a meeting passport for tracking attendance and independently seeking professional development hours.
