Christian Lindsay ISA Certified Arborist and Owner, Lindsay Tree Removal Service Safe and efficient movement in a tree is an essential skill for arborists. This class, taught by experienced professionals, is designed for the beginning or intermediate climber who would like to practice and refine their skills. Instruction will cover proper use of ropes, entry into a tree canopy as well as climbing systems and techniques of movement in a tree. Double Rope Technique (DRT) will be covered but emphasis will be on Single Rope Technique (SRT). Each student will climb with an instructor and receive hands-on experience as well as learn rigging techniques for lowering limbs. Safe felling techniques and the application of correct knots will be demonstrated. Each participant will also receive a copy of How to Fell a Tree by Jeff Jepson as well as a copy of the ANSI Z133.1 Safety Requirements for Tree Care Operations. Meet at the Arboretum’s Bloomfield Farm Horticulture Center. Please see page 9 for directions. This course carries 13 CEUs for ISA certified arborists (S=4, P=9, M=0).
