WCISA Women's Climbing Workshop

Description: October 7-9, 2022

Come learn how to climb trees or advance your climbing skills in a safe and positive environment. This two and a half-day event is led by female tree care industry professionals and is open to participants who identify as women. Registration includes the use of climbing equipment as well as room and board (single occupancy bedrooms and communal restrooms). This workshop is limited to 24 participants. Registration deadline is October 1st.

Per the WCISA’s COVID Policy for multi-day events, proof of vaccination is required upon registration.

Instructor Bios:

Amanda Hancock has been climbing trees for nearly 10 years and has competed in the TXTCC and the NATCC. She is an ISA Certified Arborist and a Certified Tree Care Safety Professional with a degree in Forestry. She has led climbing workshops for the City of Austin's Parks and Recreation Program, and volunteered at other industry events. She is currently a climbing arborist in Olympia, Washington.

Kate Miller has been in the tree care industry for seven years. She’s an ISA Certified Arborist and has been competing in ISA climbing competitions for three years. She placed first at the Western Chapter ISA TCC in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and at the Pacific Northwest Chapter Portland TCC in 2022.

Bella Rammon has competed in the WCISA TCC and placed second. Bella owns her own tree care company in Reno, NV. She grew up in Mainz, Germany and went to college in Oregon where she received a degree in finance. Her love of trees comes through service opportunities in Reno. She is looking forward to sharing her passion and skills with other women.

Aneesa Winn is an ISA Certified Arborist and Tree Worker Climber Specialist. She is the owner of Tree Chic LLC and is primarily a contract climber who resides in Portland, OR. Outside of tree work, she is a hobbyist with many interests such as hiking with her dog, skateboarding and dancing. No matter the subject, she enjoys teaching people new skills and techniques and seeing their excitement and progression.
