The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture is pleased to host the British Columbia Tree Climbing Competition (BCTCC) scheduled for July 8-9, 2023 at Mill Lake Park at 32960 Mill Lake Road in Abbotsford, BC. This event will take place on Saturday July 8th, from 8 am to 6 pm PDT (Check In 7:30 am PDT) with Gear Check on Friday July 7th from 12 pm to 6 pm PDT. The Masters Challenge will take place on Sunday July 9th from 8am to 12pm. This registration is for male registrants only.
This educational event and skills competition is an excellent way for climbers of all skill levels to learn the latest in safety and climbing techniques. Beginning and experienced climbers are encouraged to participate.
Climbers participate in five events: aerial rescue, belayed speed climb, ascent event/secured footlock, throw line, and work climb. The top four qualifiers are eligible to compete in the Chapter Tree Climbing Championship this fall in Tacoma, Washington. Chapter TCC winners go on to represent PNW-ISA at the International Tree Climbing Championship.
