Description:
Join Andrew Maclellan, a plant health care professional and educator and Kin Cho – Senior consulting Arborist both from SavATree/BC Plant Health Care for the Advanced Tree Risk Assessment Course. This 8-hour course explores the relationship between fungi and tree biomechanics, focusing on high-resolution decay detection tools for urban tree management. A 3-hour morning seminar covers topics such as tree biomechanics, decay classification, and fungi’s impact on trees. The 5-hour practical session introduces resistance microdrills (IML RESI PD600) and sonic tomography (PiCUS 3), allowing participants hands-on experience with these technologies on trees with known or suspected decay.Ideal participants include arborists, horticulturists, gardeners, landscape architects, and tree enthusiasts with prior knowledge of plant biology, tree risk assessment, pests, diseases, and tree biomechanics.
