Extreme weather events are causing considerable damage to managed forests and urban trees in middle and southern Georgia. Join this day-long workshop designed for Extension Agents, forest landowners and managers to learn from UGA faculty and Extension specialists about:
1. Timber management lessons learned from Hurricanes Irene and Michael on forest stand assessment, lean pine recovery, reforestation, and invasive species management.
2. Urban tree considerations for storm-preparedness and recovery: tree risk assessment and wind damage, tree health, and species selection for replanting.
