Three Part Class over 2 days:
Day 1 - Identify Key Pest for Woody Plants of Montana . plant symptoms for each pest and how to management them; understanding abiotic stresses and herbicide damage on trees and shrubs, an overview of tree physiology/soil structure, air spade/soil management, challenges of urban landscape and utilizing air tools and the benefits they provide, cover safe working practices when working with a stressed tree. Dutch elm disease macro infusion training, best management practices common to all tree injection applications, soil applied insecticide, miticides, pgr, and nutrients,, soil structure, soil moisture, and how materials move in the soil to the roots
Day 2 - Calibrations for different equipment - morning
Nature Hike in the afternoon (easy to moderate hike): interactive nature walk. We will discuss how to spot unhealthy trees, learn about biotic versus abiotic damages, and identify the forest insects and diseases that we come across.
