This pruning workshop will cover all the best management practices pruning techniques required by arborists. The course will cover both the theory and practice of pruning evergreen and deciduous trees, shrubs and fruit trees. This is an ideal workshop for practitioners and consultants alike.
Pruning trees and shrubs can be a very extensive topic with many areas of focus. This course and presentation are designed to discuss some fairly advanced topics that are intended to explain the theory of why we should be pruning the way we do. At times the presentation may seem to move from technically advanced to more basic topics. It was designed this way so that we can understand some complexities of forces that trees undergo before discussing how to mitigate them through pruning. The question “why” has always proved to be a bedrock foundation for understanding.

Instructor
Tyler Roth is a certified arborist (PN-7469A) who lives in Hood River, Oregon. He is the owner of Gorge Tree Surgeon, a tree service in the central Columbia River Gorge. Tyler is TRAQ qualified, a graduate of Community Tree Management Institute (CTMI 2016), a Hood River Tree Committee member, and a climbing and consulting arborist. Tyler has an AAS in Natural Resources: Forestry from MHCC and a BAS in Horticulture from Oregon State University.

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the event will be refunded at 100%.
Cancellations made within 5-9 days of the event will be refunded at 75%.
Cancellations made within 1-4 days of the event will be refunded at 50%.
Refunds will not be made available for no-shows.
