Description:
Do you ever feel “stuck” at work? Are you looking for ways to expand your capacity to be more effective, or more influential in what you do? As arborists and urban foresters, we face many challenges and opportunities to help people understand and connect with the important role trees play in our daily lives. This presentation will help attendees with the “non-tree” aspects of moving their arboriculture and urban forestry efforts to the next level in three key contexts:
Personal effectiveness
Organizational growth
Collaborative action
Participants will learn ways to advance their careers, programs, and partnerships. The key messages are that we need to continuously learn and hone our “soft-skills” and strategic thinking abilities, we need to grow our organizations and companies to be both efficient and nimble, and we need to work collaboratively with others to increase our influence and ability to rise above the noise that clamors for people’s attention.
Learn about the following:
Explore various options for increasing personal impact, influence, and effectiveness
Critically assess current professional development needs in the areas of personal, organizational, and group effectiveness
Synthesize information from various non-arboricultural sources and strategize about how to apply them in your own life
