Description:
This half-day seminar focuses on the health of shade trees in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region more broadly. We will begin with a module discussing what changing climate and regional weather patterns mean for existing plant health problems. Common and emerging pests and diseases will be addressed, along with current mitigation and control strategies. We will discuss the challenges of plant health care in changing multi-factor growing environments. There will be an open forum question and answer session and, weather permitting, there will be a walk in the Arboretum collections focused on plant selection and insect and disease issues.
This course carries 3.5 CEUs for ISA certified Arborists: S=1.5, P=0.5, and M=1.5.
