From Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) to emerald ash borer (EAB) to hemlock woolly adelgid, the flood of non-native invasive tree pests into North America may appear never ending. However, as demonstrated by ALB and EAB in Europe and fall webworm in Asia, the tide is rising world-wide. What can arborists do to stem this world-wide non-native tree pest tsunami? This presentation will use case studies to inform tree care professionals on how they can partner with educators and regulatory agencies to play a significant role in turning the tide on non-native tree pests.
