Joseph Townsend

Grew up in Philadelphia area. Attended Kenyon College in Ohio. Learned to climb trees with Davey Tree Surgery in the Bay Area. Managed Davey offices in San Jose, San Francisco and Hilo. Obtained Masters degree in public horticulture from University of Delaware. Went back to Davey, first to manage an Environmental Services offices and then to open a tree care office in the Brandywine Valley. Returned to UD to study for Ph.D.. Research topic: the psychological effect trees have on human sense of health and safety. Graduate 12/19/14
