ISA Members and certified professionals are provided strict guidelines regarding how they are permitted to promote themselves and are expected to always conduct themselves in a professional manner. Consumers should be informed as to how to recognize and confirm if an arborist is indeed certified by or is a member of the ISA.

ISA Logos and Trademarks

All logos outlined in the ISA Branding and Style Guide are registered trademarks of the ISA. Any misuse of our guidelines may result in a trademark violation. Suspected trademark violations are subject to legal notification and investigation by the ISA office.

Any advertisement or other promotional materials which do not properly adhere to the established guidelines or that falsely state someone is a member of or certified by the ISA is subject to a false advertisement notification.

ISA Certification Code of Ethics

The International Society of Arboriculture Certification Program certifies qualified practitioners in the field of arboriculture, who have met the professional knowledge standards established by the ISA Credentialing Council.

The Code of Ethics establishes appropriate and enforceable professional conduct standards, and sets forth the minimal behavior requirements for certificants and candidates. The Code of Ethics also serves as a professional resource for arborists, as well as for those served by certificants and candidates, with respect to such standards and requirements and possible ethical violations.

Regardless of any other professional affiliation, the ISA Code of Ethics applies for those individuals who are Certified Arborists or Board Certified Master Arborists and must be strictly adhered to.

If you have reason to believe that someone claiming to be certified by the ISA has conducted themselves unethically, you may be able to report a claim against them.
