Report an Ethics Violation
Help to Continuously Improve Our Profession
ISA takes our Certified Arborist and Board Certified Master Arborist Code of Ethics very seriously. The Ethics
Review Committee investigates unethical behavior that is reported by other arborist or the public. We have
established a set of policies and procedures intended to help reduce poor professional conduct and practices.
A Code of Ethics will offer an invaluable opportunity for ISA to continue building a positive industry image,
which will increase confidence and trust in our certification program.
Please review the Code of Ethics before you complete an Ethics Charge Statement. It is most
helpful if you can fully document reasonable grounds for a violation in your complaint. The more information
you can supply the better we are able to determine the severity of the matter.
It is important to know that your complaint is confidential but your name and complaint information will be s
hared with the individual being reported. We recommend that you review the Ethics Case Procedures as you
may be asked to supply additional comments or partake in further discussions through the complaint process.
Ethics Case Confidentiality Notice
In order to protect the privacy of the parties involved in an ethics case, all material prepared by, or submitted
to, the ISA Certification Program will be confidential. Until an ethics case has been closed or finalized, all parties
and participants must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to the ethics case, including its existence.
If any party discloses information related to the ethics case contrary to these rules, the Ethics Committee and/or the
Credentialing Council may terminate the ethics complaint if such disclosure is by the complainant; or, may impose any
sanction included within the Ethics Case Procedure if such disclosure is by the respondent.
