Funding Sources for Arboricultural Research
There are a limited number of dedicated funding sources which support research endeavors in arboriculture and urban forestry.
The Tree Research and Endowment (TREE) Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and funding projects and programs that advance knowledge in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry to benefit people, trees and the environment. Its mission is to identify and fund projects and programs that advance knowledge in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry to benefit people, trees and the environment.
The National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (NUCFAC) is an organization supporting education, projects, and groups related to urban and community forestry. NUCFAC offers a variety of cost-sharing opportunities for projects in three main categories: Research and Technology Development; Education, Communication and Outreach; and, Creative and Innovative Projects.
Other funding opportunities include the Garden Club of America Urban Forestry Fellowship and the Horticultural Research Institute.
